Cocoon fireplace by Federico Otero

This is updated model of the classic modern fireplaces. This is the Cocoon fireplace by the designer Federico Otero. He is an Industrial Designer and Interactive Designer from Latin America. Born in Lima, Peru, Otero started his career as a designer in his natal city at the PUCP. He then moved to the US and continued his studies at Purdue University. Now he is living and working in West Palm Beach, Florida USA. The fireplace have not only contemporary design but and very good energy efficiency. The fireplace uses the bio-fuel ethanol for operating. This fuel is smoke free and can achieve up to 75% thermal efficiency. The Cocoon fireplace has a capacity of 1.5 liter ethanol which is enough for 6 hours of warmness and coziness.

The fireplace is attached to the ceiling with a pole with a various lengths depending on your room height. The size of the pole can be 56", 53”, 49.4”, 45.8”, or 42.3”. If the roof of your home is at an angle don't worry there are a special mounting brackets for this situation. The dimensions of the fireplace are 23.7" in diameter and 15" in height. The unit can be rotated 360 degrees. The Cocoon fireplace is made from stainless steel and has a mirror finish. The fireplace can be used as a perfect beverage cooler during the summer. The price for this piece of art is around $3,990.00 each.
