High-End Vapor HyperAgility Cleats by Nike

In an ongoing effort to create the most technologically advanced football cleats in the world, Nike decided to turn to 3D printing. The new Vapor HyperAgility Cleats were built to deliver maximum stopping power, acceleration, maneuverability and grip, all thanks to an ingenious design and a brand new set of studs.

Nike’s previous 3D printing endeavors resulted in the fantastic Vapor Laser Talon cleat and the Vapor Carbon 2014 Elite cleat that proved to be quite popular during the 2014 Super Bowl. The Vapor HyperAgility was manufactured with utmost performance in mind, which makes it perfect for the quick takeoffs required during a so-called “shuttle” drill.

Even though the bottom of the cleat definitely looks quite innovative, the shoe’s upper is no less impressive since it was made using Flywire cabling. For comfort purposes, the cleat was equipped with a compression collar that allows it to hug the foot comfortably while diminishing the feeling of the sturdy studs underneath.

However, advanced technology always comes at a high cost, which is why these particular football cleats will most likely not be available for the general public. Nonetheless, successful NFL teams would most definitely afford to purchase and use this incredible product, and we can’t wait to see the wonderful results that it will bring.

Diageo’s Most Expensive Whisky Is Called Brora 40

As its name suggests, the Brora 40 whisky by Diageo is no less than 4 decades old, and if you know anything about fine drinks, then you already know that that’s a lot. Limited to just 160 units, each bottle of this delicious drink costs no less than $11,690 and is only available on World of Whiskies shelves.

The Brora 40 Year is a high-end beverage that is bottled within a gorgeous crystal faceted decanter, which is in turn placed within a sublime wooden box crafted by the Queen’s Cabinet Makers. In order to preserve the heritage of the famous distillery that made the Brora 40 a reality, the decanter we mentioned before flaunts a superb Scottish Wildcat logo that was crafted out of gold. Furthermore, the crystal stopper bears its own engraving of the number 40 for a touch of authenticity, while the copper neck boasts a depiction of 1972 – the year of distillation.

As far as the aroma of the whisky is concerned, we can tell you that it features hits of eucalyptus, citrus and wood smoke complemented by dark chocolate touches. Moreover, the fragrance includes touches toasted hazelnuts, white pepper, dried fruits as well as menthol, musk and honey. Sounds divine, doesn’t it?

The World’s First Gold-Plated Violins Are Studded With Precious Stones And Cost $2 Million

They already own a pair of Swarovski studded violins valued at $1.5 million each, but want more luxury and more expensive string instruments. Electric violin duo FUSE has collaborated with British jewellery designer Theo Fennell and bespoke violin manufacturer Bridge to craft the world’s first ever 24-carat gold-plated violins, both worth £1,35 million ($2,12 million) each. Individually handmade and exclusive to FUSE, these incredible works of art are made from carbon and kevlar, used to balance the weight of the gold plating and adorned with ruby, sapphire and diamond encrusted golden skulls in pink for Linzi Stoppard and blue for Ben Lee.

Linzi said: “Ben and I fly all over the world to play live, rock violin and in every destination we put on a spectacular show. The thrill of playing with these new gold violins is something I can’t describe. They are stunning works of art by one of Britain’s most renowned jewellers and because Bridge, the original makers of the violins have been involved from the outset, the integrity and sound of each instrument is maintained. Nothing is compromised.”

Ben Lee added: “The art and science involved to make each violin has blown us away. Entirely new and original components had to be designed for the instruments, plus new electronics have had to be engineered to counteract the conductive 24-carat gold. They are exceptional pieces that we will treasure.”

The exquisite instruments which took over nine months to be created were launched to the world’s media at the Theo Fennell boutique, Chelsea, London, before they are taken on tour to America and Asia.

Pink Star Diamond is in Sotheby’s Possesion Again

In November last year we wrote about $83 Million Pink Star Diamond which became the highest paid price in history for any diamond ever purchased. But now this most valuable diamond offered at auction is again in Sotheby’s possession after the buyer couldn’t pay for the jewel and defaulted. New York-based diamond cutter Isaac Wolf outbid 3 rivals to pay $83 million for the oval-cut stone, the largest internally flawless fancy vivid pink diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

But chief financial officer, Patrick McClymont, told investors in a conference call Thursday that the buyer had defaulted and the auction house has added the diamond back to its inventory at a value of $72 million. “We are currently in discussions with the buyer, while also considering other alternatives. In the meantime, we are quite comfortable with our valuation and see real value in owning the diamond at this price,” McClymont said.

The Pink Star was originally mined by De Beers in Africa in 1999.

Described as “full of fire and light,” and one of the earth’s “greatest natural treasures,” Pink Star was cut and polished from a 132.5 carat rough diamond and polished over two years by Steinmetz Diamonds, before being unveiled to the press as the Steinmetz Pink in Monaco in 2003.

This gem, mounted on a ring, was first sold in 2007, which actually was the first time that the diamond was presented at auction.

Australia’s First Ever Limited Edition Absolut Oz by Baz Luhrmann

World renowned Australian film director Baz Luhrmann has collaborated with Absolut vodka to produce Absolut Oz, the first ever limited edition of Absolut bottle celebrating Australia. The spiced-orange flavor chosen by Luhrmann for the Oz edition was influenced by Australia’s robust and deeply seeded beach culture.

“We are extremely pleased and proud to be collaborating with one of the great visionary minds of the contemporary world in Baz to realize the first Australian Absolut limited edition. Baz is one of the world’s renowned inspirations in creativity. Working with Absolut, Baz has captured the unique essence of Australia,” said Julien Hemard, managing director at Pernod Ricard Australia.
As part of the creation process, Luhrmann travelled to Sweden and the southern town of Åhus, home to the Absolut distillery and the sole source of the pure water, which goes into each and every bottle of Absolut. It was here that he collaborated with Absolut to develop the Oz flavor which was crafted to evoke what it is like to be on the beach in Australia.
In addition to developing Absolut Oz, Luhrmann also worked closely with Absolut to create four special cocktails, each of which is a toast to four famous beaches around Australia. They are the Tama-Glama, The Hells Bells Beach, the Cable Beach “Stairway to the Moon,” and The South Avoca Elevator.

According to Absolut, Luhrmann believes that our taste palette, like other senses such as smell, has the power to transport us to places both known and imagined, in this case Australian beaches. “Absolut Oz is a distillation of the unifying truth that we are all equal under the sun,” said Luhrmann.
“While creating the drinks which feature and celebrate Absolut Oz, we reflected on that moment when the sun dips below the horizon and, as we say in the movies, the magic hour is upon us,” Luhrmann added.

The Absolut Oz will be available in one size only, 1 liter, for $54.99 for a limited period of time. This Luhrmann’s limited edition will go on sale next month and will feature a specially designed neck tag with story notes, images and recipes for the cocktales created by Luhrmann.

A big variety of Absolut Limited Editions bottles can be found here.
